Minerva Intelligence’s Business Development Scientist, Gökay Abay, recently participated in a trade delegation to Australia organized by Canada’s Mining Suppliers Trade Association (MSTA).
Minerva’s goal was to introduce its AI products into the Australian market and develop channels for future marketing and sales. Since Minerva’s products are built upon an expanding body of international scientific terminology standards, and Geoscience Australia is a major proponent of these standards, Minerva believes the market outlook for its products in Australia is very positive.
The delegation, which was there from May 20th to May 24th, was led by Ryan McEachern, Managing Director of MSTA Canada, and John Williams, the Canada Trade Commissioner in Queensland.
The mission comprised visits to major mining and technology companies in Brisbane, attendance at the Australian Mining Conference (Austmine 2019) in Brisbane, and a visit to the Kirkland Lake Gold Mine in Victoria.
The highlight of the trip was the Austmine 2019 Conference, where the theme this year was of “Disrupting Technologies”, with a focus on AI and machine learning systems. The conference’s emphasis on “Big Data” and how best to take advantage of it to operate more efficiently and safely is in line with the focus of Minerva’s products.
